W10: "Dear pollutants of Earth..."
Dear pollutants of Earth, you are the consequence of mankind’s inconsiderate actions. In pursuit of a world of convenience and opportunities, we have neglected your existence. Now, we may live in a better world, but our negligence has cost us a world that is clean and safe. The rivers never run clear; the moon and stars shy away at night, and the sun is no longer kind to us.
Climate change is real and it is happening right now. For the past few decades, Earth has been facing multiple climate disasters such as the melting of icebergs, the tearing of the ozone layer, acid rain etc. Wildlife is losing their homes too! Without their homes, they are struggling to survive the harsh environment, the suffocating air and the polluted water.
So who exactly are you and where do you come from?
Culprit No. 1: Carbon Monoxide
Carbon Monoxide is also known as a greenhouse gas. This gas will be emitted by typical road transportation such as cars, motorcycles and many more. Large consumptions of this kind of gas will cause dizziness, confusion, unconsciousness and death. Victims will normally get these symptoms if they inhale this gas in an enclosed environment that contains a high level of carbon monoxide value. Short term exposure to carbon monoxide may result in reduced oxygen to the heart accompanied by chest pain as the heart will pump harder to supply sufficient oxygen to the needed organs. Look at your work, Carbon Monoxide. I hope you will be gone forever.
Culprit No. 2: Sulphur Dioxide
Factories emit tons of Sulphur Dioxide each day. Sulphur Dioxide can be harmful when it combines with water and air. Once it combines it will evolve into sulphur dioxide which is the main component of acid rain. Acid rain has been a troublemaker around these decades. It caused deforestation, loss of wildlife habitat and corroded the building materials and paints. The acidity that lives in you, has caused a lot of trouble to any kind of living being on Earth.
Culprit No 3: Chlorofluorocarbon
Chlorofluorocarbons will be emitted when we turn on our air conditioner or refrigerator. I know this action is unavoidable but I am here to inform you how it will affect our environment. These chemical substances will deplete the ozone layer that prevents the harmful ultraviolet rays from the Sun. The worst condition of the depletion of the ozone layer is it might cause disease on our human’s biggest organ, the skin. This disease can be very nasty and hard to cure at the same time as this was a nightmare for people who experienced it before.
Humans, please recognise all these pollutants. Stop them when you meet them.
From,
Shiin 😡
