W4: "Dear Mom"

Dear Mom,

    I know I have always been a mischievous son and never express my love to you face to face, but I’m here to tell you that I love you very much. You created me and loved me with all your heart unconditionally. Throughout these years, your love for me never changed, in fact, it increased in the fold when I needed it the most although sometimes you might be quite strict on me.

    Mom, I wonder you could sacrifice so much for this family. You woke up at 6am in the morning every day just to prepare dishes for each family member. By the time, you are done preparing dishes for us, we just started to awake from the good dreams and tidy ourselves up. Then, you still got to rush for work at 7am or you will be late for school as the location is quite far from our home. You never complained about all the crazy routines you have been through even when I made all the fuss on the dining table because of the repetitive and dull flavor of food but you still constantly researching food recipes on YouTube. After you finish teaching in school, you still need to brainstorm on what our family has for lunch and also clean the dirty laundry of our family. Even during the weekend, you will still wake up early to visit “pasar pagi” to restock our house’s raw material. After all, you don’t even really have much time left for yourself after all.


    I’m glad that this pandemic COVID-19 give me a second chance to accompany you and live under your love and care. I’m sorry that I can just help you with the household chores sometimes during the weekend as currently, I am encountering online study mode at home and might be busy doing assignments and I hope you will forgive me for not helping you on your chores sometimes. Thank you for your relentless efforts in making us eat a balanced diet every day and keeping our family together. In this ever-changing world, your love is one of the only constants.

    I hereby promise you that I will accompany and help you once I have my free time. Don’t worry about me when I go for a physical class in UTAR as I’m a grown-up man now, okay? I hope that I will be able to reach my goals soon so that I can provide you a more comfortable and relaxing retirement life. Once again, I love you Mom 💓

Dear future self, keep up your hard work but please be reminded, work hard play hard. Take a moment and go have yourself a proper entertainment and personal moment. Do not ever and ever dare to feel guilty for taking time for yourself.      Do you still remember what happened during your secondary school? You neglected your studies because you are lazy, not disciplined, too focused on relationships, etc. In the end, you lost everything including your academic result, relationship with 'her', and your certain friends. I am here just to remind you to stay focused on your own work and never lose your focus to reach your own goal.
